Verification Standards
A clear standard for documentation-based verification.
Eligible claims must be truthful, not misleading, and supported by documentation appropriate to the claim being made.

If a claim cannot be supported, it cannot be verified.
Behind every verified claim are records to substantiate it.
TSB Verified™ Standards
These standards define what brands must disclose, what supporting documentation is required, and what must be maintained for verified status.
01
Accuracy
Brands must provide current product information and a complete ingredient (INCI) list reflecting the product as marketed.
02
Disclosure
Brands must disclose all ingredient-related claims used on packaging, websites, listings, advertising, and other marketing materials.
03
Documentation
Each eligible claim must be supported by appropriate records, including COAs, certifications, supplier documents, or attestations.
04
Consistency
Claim language, product information, and supporting records must be materially consistent before verification is granted.
05
Standards
Each eligible claim must meet TSB standards and claim-specific requirements in effect at the time of review.
06
Accountability
Brands must notify TSB of changes to formulas, suppliers, packaging, or documentation that may affect verified status.
Claim Integrity
All claims appearing on a product’s label, packaging, website, and marketing must be truthful, not misleading, and can be substantiated with accurate documentation. Claims outside TSB’s verification scope may still require clarification, correction, or supporting documentation during review. The TSB Verified™ mark applies only to the eligible claims identified in the product’s public verification record.
Scope of Verification
The Skincare Bureau® reviews eligible ingredient claims using the documentation submitted for the specific product under review.
Verification applies only to:
-
Specific product submitted
-
Eligible claims identified in the public record
-
Documentation reviewed during the applicable verification period
Verification does not extend to other products, brands, or claims not specifically identified in the product’s public verification record.
The TSB Verified™ Program Requirement
Every eligible claim submitted for TSB verification must be supported by documentation that meets applicable TSB requirements. If the documentation does not support the claim as presented, the claim must be revised or removed before verification can be granted. Claims outside TSB’s verification scope are not verified, are not represented as TSB Verified™, and remain the responsibility of the brand.
